As well as being a leading composer and pianist, the Swaledale Festival’s 2012 Artist in Residence creates highly accomplished and colourful abstract collages.

Landscapes of the Dales

Talented local students have received individual expert guidance from professional artists, working with them to produce pairs of pictures, in a variety of media, which interpret the local landscape. The pictures are for sale in pairs, as displayed.

Climb up to the Moor
Dales Countryside Museum, Hawes Wheelchair access May 4 – July 1 (exc. May 27),  10.00 - 17.00
Original paintings by Judith Bromley which explore moorland life through the seasons, and highlight the fragility of this amazing landscape. Year 10 Music Technology students from Richmond School have recorded a collection of evocative sounds from the Dales and edited them into a soundtrack to accompany the exhibition.

Vibrant colours alternate with calm reflection in the abstract works of these two respected artists, showcased in their studio high above Lake Semerwater.
