Caliche
A leading group dedicated to promoting the vibrant music and
culture of South America in Britain, Caliche will delight listeners
with magical sounds, colourful costumes and entertaining delivery.
The musicians hail from Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Ecuador. Their
impressive armoury of instruments includes panpipes, flutes,
charangos, guitars and mandolins which together evoke the
magnificent scenery of the Altiplano - cradle to the Inca civilisation.
If you have a ticket to this event, you may like to walk to it from
Richmond. Meet at 1.45pm at Yorke Square car-park, Richmond (at
foot of Cravengate). An easy 3-mile guided walk along the north
bank of the Swale leads past the ruins of 12th-century Easby
Abbey to St Agatha's Church. After the concert we return on the
other side of the river, reaching The Station in time for tea, or the
Georgian Theatre Royal for the 5.00pm event.
