Haydn The Seasons

Unlike Haydn’s previous oratorio The Creation, The Seasons strays from familiar religious or mythological subjects and celebrates everyday rural village life: sowing, reaping, drinking wine, and (of course) the weather. Written in 1801, this entertaining and lively piece was Haydn’s last major work.

With members from the length of the dale, the Swale Singers have appeared in every Swaledale Festival since 1995.
