Hear Ffion Hague talking about her new book- for the benefit of the Swaledale Festival Lloyd George was a man who loved women, and the tale of his intertwined relationships contains many mysteries and intrigues. He was cited in two divorce cases and was rumoured to have fought a duel over a woman in Argentina. A habitual womaniser, there were many private scandals in a life devoted to public duty. Ffion’s book is based on the 'open secret' that for 30 years of his life, David Lloyd George, Prime Minister, war leader and international statesman, had not one wife but two, in all but the strictest sense. She illuminates his complex attitude to women. Her own interest stems from the many parallels in her own life. Copies of her book can be purchased, and she has kindly agreed to sign copies.
