E2 Lead Mining Walk

Lead mining and its impact on Arkengarthdale will be explained in this short walk of around 3 miles. A fairly stiff ascent of 200 metres at the start affords excellent views of the dale. Descending from the moor we follow Arkle Beck to Langthwaite returning in good time for the 4.15 concert at the CB Inn.

  • Please wear stout shoes or boots suitable for walking on rough ground.
  • As the weather can be changeable, waterproofs and a hat are recommended.
  • Bring a packed lunch and water for full-day walks.
  • Dogs are welcome if on a short lead and under control at all times.
  • Bring coins for ticket machine if meeting in a car-park. Places are limited, so please book in advance.
